Answer To tell you honestly, I figured that it has something to do with a device but in this case, things change. Garmin is supposed to recognize certain files, encoded in a different way. May see two file formats which have the same extension and different content. Well, this happened with your files. Although you are trying to add GPX files to the device, it is supposed to recognize the file but with a different header.
Basically, what I am trying to say is that although you convert the file to GPX, it will not always work because of the encoding requirements. Please check the manual to see if Garmin MapSource requires a certain GPX file encoded with specific software or parameters.
Hi, I recently upgraded my laptop to Windows 7 Release Candidate 64 bit. I previously ran Mapsource on this same laptop when it was running Windows XP Pro SP3. However in Windows 7, Mapsource runs fine until I click on the polgygon icon to begin selecting which maps I want to download to the GPS (GPSMap 76Cx). Upon selecting any maps, whether one or many maps, I get an error message 'there is a problem with this GARMIN application, please press the button below to copy the log file.' After I copy the log file and press OK, MapSource terminates. Running MapSource version 6.15.6 I've tried running in Windows XP SP 3 compatibility mode, but same result.
I have Topo Canada loaded and I can see the outlines of the maps available for download. But as soon as I click on a map to select it for download, I get the error.
